## Rules questions

### What actions can I take on my turn with each die?

Each turn you take two actions (one per die); each die may be used to: take a hex tile from the numbered depot that matches the die, place a hex tile from your storage into your duchy on a matching-numbered space, sell a stack of goods of the color shown by the die, or take 2 workers — you may use the same action twice or in any order (pages 6–7).

### Can the starting player use the white die as one of their actions?

No — the starting player uses the white die only to place the top goods tile on the indicated depot; the white die may not be used for a game action and its result cannot be changed by workers (page 6).

### How do workers change die results and when can I use them?

Workers can be spent at any time (not an action) to increase or decrease a die result by 1 per worker (you may wrap 1 to 6 and use multiple workers); some yellow monastery tiles modify this behavior (for example allowing ±2) — see page 6 and page 11 for monastery variants. 

### Can I take a hex tile from the game board and place it directly into my duchy?

No — whenever you take a hex tile from the game board you must first place it on an empty key (storage) space on your player board; only with a separate "place a hex tile in your duchy" action may you move a stored tile into your duchy, and tiles placed in a duchy are permanent (pages 7 and 9).

### When I place a ship tile, must I take goods from the depot that matches my die result?

No — when you place a ship you may choose any depot on the game board and take all goods tiles from that depot, and you also advance your marker one space on the turn order track (page 7).

### How does the "Sell goods" action work and what do I gain?

The die result dictates which goods color you may sell; you must sell the entire stack of that color from your goods storage and you gain exactly 1 silver coin plus 2/3/4 victory points per sold tile (for 2/3/4 players respectively) (page 10).
