## Rules questions

### Can I take a die from another player, and what happens to them?

Yes. You may take a die from your own board or an opponent’s; if you take an opponent’s die, they immediately get the effect shown at that die’s slot (such as Coins, Reputation, or Victory Points). (p. 7)

### Can I spend Coins to boost a die for any action, even above 6?

Yes. Each Coin spent increases the die’s value by 1, with no limit on how many Coins you spend or how high the value can go. (p. 9)

### Do the Animal and Expert cards get replaced as soon as someone takes one?

No. Cards are not replaced during a round; remaining cards are discarded at round end, and new ones are dealt at the start of the next round. (pp. 9–10, 26)

### When I publish, can I take research cubes from animals other than my Reference Animal?

Yes, but only cubes in the same Category as one you publish from your Reference Animal; you may choose not to include some other animals. Your die’s value sets the highest Type you can publish, and the die must match the Reference Animal’s colour. (pp. 14–15, 26)

### Do I have to publish research cubes to use the Publication action?

No. You can publish only the Continent Type, even without publishing any Research cubes; this can add the animals to your Continent collection. (pp. 15–16, 26)

### Do I score a collection with fewer than four cards or cubes, and do face-down Experts count?

A collection needs at least 4 elements to score. Face-down Expert cards still count toward Continent collections, though only visible Experts have active effects. (pp. 10, 17, 26)
