## Rules questions

### How do constellation events work — what do I do with my constellation event tokens?

When instructed to resolve constellation events, discard all of your constellation event tokens; for each token discarded fill in the next unfilled (!) on your character’s constellation list and read that event’s text (examples and procedure shown on p.2, p.34, p.42).

### What do the stars and Xs on the ability/skill chart mean?

The chart’s columns numbered 1–7 are the scenario step/level slots; star icons mark available/active slots and X marks indicate blocked or unavailable levels for that scenario (visuals and explanation on p.1 and p.31).

### When my character sheet/story has blanks, when do I use the answers I wrote?

Fill those blanks during setup and whenever the story text contains that blank you read your corresponding written answer in its place (instruction and example blanks on p.2 and p.42).

### What do the circled-exclamation icons (three/four/five) next to an ending mean?

The icons label the ending tier: three circled-exclamation icons = BAD, four = GOOD, five = LEGENDARY; read the ending that matches the number shown (see the ending templates on p.1 and p.31).

### If a constellation event says “Supplies +3” or “Infamy +7” or “Treasure +1”, how do I resolve that?

Apply the exact effect printed by the constellation event — add the listed Supplies, Infamy or Crew, gain the specified number/type of Treasure, or follow any alternative choice the text gives (see examples on p.2, p.34, p.42).

### What does “Retrieve card X from the story deck” or “Look at the top 3 cards of the treasure deck” mean?

Follow the instruction literally: take the specified numbered story card from the story deck or reveal the top treasure cards and gain/discard/choose as the event text directs (examples on p.2 and p.42).
