## Rules questions

### Do connectors have to match across the trans-dimensional splice, or can a universal connector join a simple/double one?

Connectors that cross the trans-dimensional splice must match exactly (simple-to-simple, double-to-double, universal-to-universal); mismatches count as building mistakes you must correct during the spot check by discarding components (page 3).

### Where do I put the pilot cabin on the new ship boards — is there a special pilot square?

These latest models have no dedicated pilot square: set the pilot cabin aside at setup and you may add it to your ship at any time during building (it counts as one of your two set-aside components); if you never add it it stays in the discard pile and counts as a lost component (page 2).

### If a side attack is duplicated (two rows hit), can one shield stop both hits?

Yes — duplicated side attacks hit simultaneously and a single shield activation (plus the battery token) can defend against both attacks if the shield applies to them (page 3).

### For Class IIIC (spherical board) do the board edges wrap, and how do empty-square rules work?

The Class IIIC board wraps both left-to-right and top-to-bottom so every square has four neighbors; connectors must join across those wrapped edges and the usual empty-square rules for cannons/engines/thrusters apply (one empty square can serve multiple components) (pages 4–5).

### Is Class IIIC automatically insured and how is the insurance fee calculated?

Class IIIC ships are insurable and you get free insurance only if your largest cluster of empty squares is size one; otherwise pay the fee shown on the insurance table based on the largest cluster (with 15 credits the maximum charge) (page 5).

### For the Class IVC four-ship setup, when am I allowed to look at the adventure cards — do I have to start all four ships first?

You may not look at the adventure cards until you have placed a first component on each of the four ships; if you want to see the cards before the first die roll you must begin all four ships, otherwise wait until ships combine (page 6).
