## Rules questions

### Do I have to take a guest every turn, or can I skip it?

Taking a guest is optional; on your turn you may take a guest (optional) and must take a die and carry out its action (mandatory). (see p.6–7).

### When I take an action, is the amount determined by the die face or the number of dice on that action space?

The amount you get from an action is determined by the number of dice currently on that Action space (not the face value); after resolving the action you remove one die and place it on your Turn Order tile. (see p.7–8).

### Can I place dishes/drinks directly onto guest orders when I receive them, and can I move items from my Kitchen to guests for free?

Whenever you receive dishes or drinks you may immediately place them on guest orders; otherwise you can pay 1 krone to move up to 3 items from your Kitchen to guests, or use a Chief Waiter (permanent staff) to move them at no cost. (see p.8 and p.13).

### When do Occupancy Bonuses trigger — is it when I place the last room tile or when I move a guest into it?

An Occupancy Bonus is triggered at the moment you turn the last Room tile in a group (typically when a guest reward lets you turn/place that room); each group’s bonus is awarded only once when that last tile is flipped. (see p.8 and p.10).

### What happens when I pass — who rerolls the remaining dice and when can I act again?

If you pass you wait until every other player has either passed or taken two actions; then the player with the lowest number visible on their Turn Order tile takes the remaining dice, removes one, rerolls the rest, sorts them by number, places them back, and may then take a turn or pass again. (see p.9).

### When do Staff cards activate and when do I flip them face-down or face-up?

Staff cards have types: some trigger immediately when played, some are one-time, some are 'once per round' (you choose when to use them and then turn them face-down for the rest of that round), some are permanent, and some score at game end; at the end of each round you may turn your Staff cards face-up again. (see p.13 and p.11).
