## Rules questions

### How many actions can my hero take on their turn — can I do town actions and then move?

On your turn you may perform Town Actions (each once per round), Morale Actions, and Movement Actions; Town actions can be taken on your turn (or another player's turn) but not during Combat, and Movement consumes your hero's Movement Points (MP). (see page 10).

### What's the difference between a Main Hero and a Secondary Hero — can the Secondary level up or use my deck?

The Main Hero has a Hero card, 3 MP, uses the Might & Magic deck and gains Experience to level up; the Secondary Hero has no Hero card, has 2 MP, cannot gain Experience (so cannot level) and you may not use cards from your hand or Might & Magic deck during Combat when a Secondary Hero is involved. (see page 11).

### How does recruiting and reinforcing units work — can I recruit multiple units when I spend the Population token?

Using the Population token to expand your army lets you Recruit and Reinforce units instantly as many times as you can afford; when finished flip the Population token and you cannot use it again until the start of the next round. (see page 26).

### When do I draw cards and what is my hand limit?

At the start of your turn you may discard any number of cards and then draw up to your hand limit (if you are already at the limit you need not draw); your hand limit is shown on the Main Hero’s level tracker and increases with levels (e.g., Level 1 = 4, Level 3 = 5, Level 5 = 6, Level 7 = 7). (see pages 10 and 12).

### Do units get to retaliate when attacked, and how does initiative work?

Units that survive an attack and are adjacent to their attacker perform one Retaliation Attack per Combat round (a Retaliation cannot trigger another Retaliation), and units activate in decreasing initiative order (ties favor the attacker). (see pages 30–31).

### What is Quick Combat and when does it apply?

Quick Combat occurs when your Main Hero’s level is at least one higher than the Field Difficulty: Neutral Units flee and the encounter is resolved instantly with no Combat. (see page 32).
