## Rules questions

### If I pass, am I out of the Season?

No. You may play cards again when your turn comes back around, but the Season ends once all players have consecutively passed, and then all Action cards must be discarded. (Rulebook, p. 7)

### Does placing a clan in a territory start a clash?

No. A clash occurs when clans are moved into a territory containing opposing clans, or when a card effect causes one; simply placing a clan, such as with the New Clans Action card, does not start a clash. (Rulebook, p. 8)

### Can I pass during a clash to wait and see what happens?

No. A player with exposed clans must perform a maneuver—Attack, Withdraw, or an Epic Tale maneuver—unless all involved players agree to end the clash before that maneuver. (Rulebook, pp. 8–9)

### When do we actually check who won, and do I need a Pretender token?

Victory is checked only during Step 2 of the Assembly phase, and a player must have a Pretender token while meeting at least one victory condition to win. The player who meets the most conditions wins; if tied, the Brenn wins the tie, otherwise there is no winner. (Rulebook, p. 10)

### What happens if two players are tied for the most clans in a territory?

The territory has no chieftain. Consequently, no player takes that territory’s matching Advantage card during the Assembly phase. (Rulebook, pp. 6, 11)

### Can clans in Citadels fight or be removed during a clash?

No. A clan in a Citadel is protected and is not involved in the clash; it returns to the territory when the clash ends. Each Citadel protects exactly one clan. (Rulebook, p. 8)
