## Rules questions

### Why did I sometimes only get 1 Action even though I drew several Guardian Animals?

If your Help Line shows three solitary symbols (not canceled by gregarious symbols) you get only 1 Action; if it shows fewer than three solitary symbols you get 2 different Actions. Gregarious symbols cancel solitary symbols (so they can allow more animals to be revealed) but only uncanceled solitary symbols count toward the three‑solitary limit (see pages 7 and 9).

### Can I spend a Fragment to get rid of a just‑drawn Fire Varan and keep drawing?

Yes — during the Guardian Animal phase you may discard a Fragment to destroy a just‑drawn Fire Varan (returning it to the Fire Varan stack) or to send a just‑drawn Guardian Animal to your discard pile, and then you may continue drawing (see page 8).

### Does the Sacred Flower element count toward performing Actions?

No — the Flower element is not used to perform Actions; it is a victory condition only (see page 9).

### When I plant a Protective Tree, can I place it diagonally or plant more than one in the same Action?

You may plant exactly one Protective Tree per Plant Action and it must be placed on a space orthogonally adjacent to an already planted Protective Tree (diagonals do not count). The planted tree’s effect and Elements apply immediately and can be used for your second Action if you have one (see page 12).

### If I move on the Circle of Spirits and jump over other Spirits, do I take their Victory tiles and get the arrival bonus?

Yes — when you move you may jump over Spirits on intervening rocks (you don’t count their rocks) and you take one Victory tile of your choice from each Spirit you jump over; you also trigger the arrival rock’s bonus (moving at least one rock is required to trigger a bonus) (see page 11).
