## Rules questions

### Can I play any two cards during my turn?

Normally, you may play up to two Quest or Legendary cards, with no more than one brown and one grey Quest card; Legendary cards do not count toward this limit. Pippin is the exception and may play two cards of the same color instead (Rulebook, pp. 10, 17).

### Do star symbols let me advance different Activity Tracks?

No. A card with one or more stars may use them as any Activity symbol, but all stars on that card must be applied to the same Activity Track. Stars discarded to pay for an effect may represent different symbols (Rulebook, p. 11).

### What can I do instead of playing cards?

You may play no cards and either draw two Quest cards or move your Hobbit one space to the left on the Corruption Track. This is the refresh option (Rulebook, p. 11).

### Do I resolve every space an Activity marker moves through?

Yes. Every space the marker moves over or lands on must be resolved, including spaces crossed when several symbols advance a track. The Ring is the exception: spaces moved over or landed on through the Ring’s power are not resolved (Rulebook, pp. 11, 15–16).

### What happens at the end of a Conflict if I’m missing Life tokens?

At the end of Moria, Helm’s Deep, and Shelob’s Lair, each player must have one Heart, one Sun, and one Ring Life token; for each missing type, that player moves one space toward Sauron. Extra tokens do not provide any additional benefit (Rulebook, p. 12).

### When am I eliminated from the game?

You are immediately eliminated if your Hobbit reaches or passes Sauron on the Corruption Track, or if you cannot pay a required cost and therefore must discard everything you have. An eliminated player discards cards and Life tokens, keeps collected runes for final scoring, and takes no further actions (Rulebook, pp. 16–17).
