## Rules questions

### Do lab actions have to be done at a research station?

Yes — lab actions must be done at research stations (p.3).

### When I Treat Disease, can I put cubes into the sample dishes instead of returning them to the supply?

Yes — one cube removed by a Treat Disease action may be placed in either of the two sample dishes instead of being returned to the supply (p.4).

### How does Process a Sample move cubes (centrifuge / separator / growth) and what if there aren't enough cubes?

Process a Sample moves all cubes from one dish along a chosen arrow: the centrifuge keeps all cubes of one color, the separator keeps one of each color present, and moving to the growth dish doubles each cube using cubes from the supply; if you cannot place the required cubes into the growth dish because the supply is insufficient, the game ends and you lose (p.4).

### Can you put cubes onto a Sequence card before it's characterized?

No — a research line must be characterized (play a City card to set the cure color and move the vial) before any cubes may be moved onto its Sequence card (pp.3–4).

### How many City cards do we discard to Discover a Cure in the Lab challenge?

In the Lab challenge you discard 3 City cards of the cure color at a research station to Discover a Cure (the Scientist discards 2); the base-game requirement of 5 does not apply here (p.5).

### Can you Test a Cure before any cubes are on the Sequence card, and what card must you play to test?

No — to Test a Cure you must play a City card of the cure color onto the research line's test space and the Sequence card must already have at least one cube (the cube removed by the test is returned to the supply) (p.5).
