## Rules questions

### Do these new power plant cards change the basic Power Grid rules?

No. The basic Power Grid rules remain the same; this rulebook explains only the changes and characteristics of the new power plant cards. (Rulebook, p. 1)

### Which power plants do I remove when using only the new deck?

Remove power plants 52, 54, 57, and 60. Set power plant 11 and the “Step 3” card aside while preparing the deck; then place “Step 3” face down at the bottom and power plant 11 face down on top. (Rulebook, p. 1)

### What do I do differently if I combine the old and new power plant decks?

Remove plants 17 and 18 from the old deck and 52, 54, 57, and 60 from the new deck. Combine plants 1–8 from both decks, keeping one copy of each number in the market and placing the other copies in a separate unused area; never remove plants 1 and 2 during this process. (Rulebook, p. 1)

### When using both decks, do removed power plants stay hidden?

No. Place removed plants in a separate area, where players may examine them to see which power plants may still appear. Plants removed because they are too small or because a player gets a fourth power plant also go into this area. (Rulebook, p. 1)

### Can I build my own power plant deck?

Yes. You may choose one power plant of each number, or reduce or increase the total number of plants; each change can produce a very different game. If two plants share the same number, agree beforehand which one is considered larger in the market. (Rulebook, p. 2)
