## Rules questions

### When does an epoch end?

An epoch ends immediately when either all players’ sun disks are face down or the Sun Boat reaches the rightmost space of the Ra track; if the Sun Boat is moved onto the final space during a Ra-tile draw the epoch ends immediately without completing an auction (pages 3, 5).

### What exactly triggers an auction?

An auction is triggered either when a Ra tile is drawn during a Draw a Tile action (discard the Ra tile, advance the Sun Boat, then begin the auction) or when a player uses the Invoke Ra action (page 3; see auction rules on page 4).

### Can I bid more than once in the same auction?

No — each player may bid (or pass) only once per auction; bidding starts with the player to the left of the Ra player, the first bid can be any value and each subsequent bid must be higher, and the auction always ends with the Ra player (page 4).

### What happens if I win Disaster tiles in an auction?

After taking auction tiles, you must immediately resolve any Disaster tiles by discarding two Auction tiles of the type indicated (if you only have one matching tile discard it, if you have none nothing happens), then discard the Disaster tile (page 4).

### When do Monument tiles score and how do multiplicity/diversity scoring work?

Monuments score only during the Third Epoch; multiplicity scores 3/4/5 identical monuments as 5/10/15 points respectively, while diversity scores 1 point per different type up to 6 types, 7 different types = 10 points, and 8 = 15 points (page 6).

### If I win an auction, what happens to the sun disk I used and the other players’ disks?

The winning player exchanges the sun disk they used for the sun disk on the Auction board (placing the obtained disk face down on their board), and all other players return their sun disks to their player boards face up so they can be used again later (page 4).
