## Rules questions

### Can I show my cards or must I keep my hand secret?

You may discuss anything with the group, but you cannot show your hand to anyone; once you choose a card and reveal it you must play it (page 1).

### How do I calculate the Target Score we need to beat?

Each of the three scoring-condition cards placed off to the side has a unique number; add those three numbers together to get the Target Score you must meet or exceed to win (page 1).

### How are blocks scored — do you score every group of each zone?

You score 1 point per block in your largest group of each zone type only; if two groups tie for largest you choose which tied group to score (page 1).

### How do roads score — what counts as a road and how many points are lost?

A road is any continuous stretch of roadway (it can be as short as one block) and you subtract 1 point from your total for each separate road in your city (page 1).

### What are the legal placement rules — can I place cards by corner, overlap, or tuck under existing cards?

Each placed card must have at least one block edge meeting an existing block edge or may overlap/cover blocks, but you may not place a card that only connects by a corner and you may not tuck a card under another (you may rotate a card 180° and must place it horizontally) (page 1).

### How does passing and hand size work each turn, and what if the deck runs out?

Start player reveals and plays one of their three cards then passes the remaining cards to the left (that player becomes the start player next turn), and the active player draws the top deck card so they have one in hand; if the deck is empty you play until you run out of cards and if you have fewer than two cards to pass you pass whatever remains (page 1).
