## Rules questions

### How does the Balance of the Force track work — who does it favor and when does the marker move?

The Force marker sits on the track to show which player the Force currently favors; certain cards and effects move the marker and its position determines who gains the Force advantage at relevant times (see page 9).

### Can I buy cards from any faction, or am I restricted to my faction's cards?

You may purchase any card unless it has a faction restriction — cards with a faction affiliation can only be bought by that faction (rules on faction affiliation and purchase restrictions; see pages 12 and 15).

### If I commit a unit to an attack, can I still use its abilities that turn?

Committed cards still have abilities but timing matters: you may only use an ability when its timing window applies (and some abilities can’t be used after committing), so follow the ability’s timing and tilt cards as a reminder after use (see pages 16 and 24).

### When I attack an opponent's base, how is damage assigned and how is a base destroyed?

Damage dealt to a base is placed on that base and is tracked against its hit points; when damage equals or exceeds the base’s hit points it is destroyed and any effects from its destruction occur as described (see page 18).

### What does 'exile' mean and when does a card go to exile instead of the discard pile?

Exile removes a card from the game into the exile zone rather than the discard pile; the rules specify when effects send cards to exile and the restrictions on returning exiled cards (see page 26).

### What if I need to draw and my deck is empty — do I reshuffle my discard, and when do I do that?

When you need to draw but your deck is empty, immediately shuffle your discard pile to form a new deck and continue drawing; empty-deck reforming and draw procedures are covered in the end-of-turn and deck-reforming rules (see pages 21 and 27).
