## Rules questions

### Can I place a building on a Volcano hex?

No — building pieces may only be placed on empty fields; you cannot build on a Volcano (page 3).

### If I place a Volcano tile as an eruption, can I cover other players' buildings or entire settlements?

You may cover Huts (even other players’) — covered Huts are returned to the box — and you may cover 2 or 3 Volcanoes, but you may not cover Towers or Temples and you may not cover a Settlement completely (page 2).

### How do I start a new Settlement — where must I place a Hut?

To start a new Settlement you place one Hut on a level‑1 field that is not adjacent to a Settlement of the same color (page 3).

### When am I allowed to build a Tower or a Temple in a Settlement?

A Tower is placed on a level‑3 (or higher) field adjacent to one of your Settlements that doesn't yet have a Tower; a Temple is placed on any level adjacent to one of your Settlements of size at least three that doesn't yet have a Temple (page 3).

### Can I skip building if nothing seems useful to place? What if I have no pieces I can legally place?

You must place at least one building piece each turn; if you cannot legally place any piece you are immediately eliminated and your turn is skipped for the remainder of the game (pages 3–4).

### How does the game end and how is the winner determined if tiles run out?

The game ends immediately if a player places all pieces of two of the three types (instant win); alternatively, if all Volcano tiles have been played the player with the most Temples wins, ties are broken by Towers then Huts (counting Huts returned to the box), and eliminated players are ignored (pages 1 and 4).
