## Rules questions

### Who goes first and how do we break ties?

Turn order is determined by position: on the first turn it's by Vampire Speed, on later turns the active-side Vampire furthest from the Castle goes first; region and path priorities (Forest→Plains→Mountains→Cemetery, and Road→Railroad→Boat) and proximity to the Labyrinth break ties (Rulebook p.4).

### Can I activate card effects before I calculate and spend Speed?

Yes — you must activate all discard and draw effects first, then calculate your total Speed from cards and spend it to move and/or hunt (Rulebook p.4).

### Do I have to spend all my Speed, and can I move after hunting or triggering a board effect?

You are never forced to spend all your Speed, but you cannot move after you have triggered a board effect or after you have started to hunt; any unspent Speed is lost at end of turn (Rulebook p.4).

### If I land on a space with other Vampires, do I push them and how does that work?

You may push Vampires one at a time (starting with the one on top) to adjacent spaces when you land on an occupied space; pushed Vampires don't push others and you cannot push Vampires in the Cemetery or the Castle (Rulebook p.5).

### When I hunt Humans, when do I score points and how do region bonuses work?

You immediately score each Human's Victory Points when you take them and also gain a region bonus (+1 per Human on the Plains, +2 per Human in the Forest); you must pay the Hunt Track's Speed cost and take all cards on the chosen space (Rulebook p.5).

### What happens at the end of my turn — which cards do I discard and how many do I draw?

At end of turn you flip your Vampire, discard all non-Permanent cards from your playing area, resolve end-of-turn effects, then draw 3 cards (reshuffle discard into deck if needed); after all players act you also draw Hunt cards and advance the Moon as part of turn preparation (Rulebook p.6).
