### What does an "Action:" on an encounter card mean — who can trigger it and when?

An "Action:" on an encounter card in play can be triggered by any player, following the normal restrictions on triggering abilities (page 1).

### Who is the "last player" when a card refers to it?

The last player is the player sitting directly to the right of the first player; in a solo game that single player counts as both first and last (page 1).

### What does "Immune to ranged damage" mean — can ranged characters ever damage the Great Cave‑troll?

"Immune to ranged damage" means characters participating in an attack via the ranged keyword cannot deal damage to that enemy; however, a ranged character that attacks by some other means (not using the ranged keyword) can deal damage and still contribute its attack value (page 1).

### During setup for Into the Pit, what do I do with First Hall and Bridge of Khazad‑dûm?

You remove First Hall and Bridge of Khazad‑dûm from the encounter deck and set them aside out of play; they are not in the game until East‑gate is explored, which then adds First Hall (and subsequently Bridge of Khazad‑dûm) to the staging area (page 2).

### How does the Cave Torch objective work if the hero it's attached to leaves play or the card would leave play?

The first player attaches Cave Torch to any hero and that hero bears it for the rest of the game; if Cave Torch would leave play (including if its hero leaves play) it is removed from the game and set aside, not placed in the discard pile (page 2).
