## Rules questions

### How many Destination Tickets do I keep at the start, and how many can I keep when I draw more?

At the start, deal 4 Destination Tickets and keep at least 2. If you draw more during the game, draw 4 and keep at least 1; return the others to the bottom of the deck (p. 2).

### Can I draw Terrain cards instead of Train Car cards?

Yes. For each card you are allowed to draw, you may choose a Train Car card or a Terrain card, in any combination. However, taking a face-up Locomotive still ends your card-drawing action immediately (p. 2).

### When can Terrain cards double the points for a route?

The Terrain cards must match the route’s color, and you must have at least as many cards of that Terrain type in front of you as any other player. Play 1 matching Terrain card for a 1–3-space route, or 2 for a 4–6-space route; the route’s points are doubled, but the same number of trains is placed (p. 2).

### Can I use Locomotives as Terrain cards?

Yes. During your turn, each Locomotive may count as 1 Terrain card of a type you choose, helping you meet the requirement to double a route’s value. Locomotives used this way are discarded to the Train Car discard pile (p. 2).

### Are the two Madagascar locations both required to complete a Ticket to Madagascar?

No. A Ticket to Madagascar is completed by reaching either of the two Madagascar locations; you do not need to reach both (p. 2).

### Are separate routes leading into the same country connected to each other?

No. Routes leading into other countries are dead ends, so separate routes entering the same country are not connected with one another (p. 2).
