## Rules questions

### Can I move through a goblin space, or do I have to stop and fight it?

You can move past goblins but there is a cost/mechanic for doing so and the goblin token may be flipped as part of that interaction; follow the rules for moving past goblins and flipping tokens (Rulebook p.8).

### What does Idling do — can I choose to idle instead of moving, and what do I get?

Idling is a legal Day action that lets your hero stay in place and take the specific idling benefit described for that space instead of moving (see Day Phase movement and the Idling option) (Rulebook pp.6, 8).

### How do Movement quests vs. Treasure quests get completed, and when do I equip Items?

Movement quests are completed by moving to and meeting the quest’s movement condition, while Treasure quests are resolved by the treasure action/condition detailed on the cards; items and equipping rules are handled in the Treasure/Item resolution steps (Rulebook pp.10–11).

### During Night, how do I resolve the adventure dice and what's the difference between Adventuring and Resting?

Night uses the adventure dice to perform the listed actions in their resolution order; each player chooses to Adventure (use dice to explore/attack) or Rest (take the rest resolution instead) as described in the Night Phase steps and die symbol table (Rulebook pp.12, 24).

### What happens when I take damage — how do defending, becoming Exhausted, and gaining Power work?

Damage is applied per the Take Damage rules, you may defend according to the Damage/Defense rules, and if you hit Exhausted you follow the Exhausted resolution; Gain Power distribution and Magic Level effects are explained alongside these rules (Rulebook p.13).

### How do Magic Levels, Conjure Magic, and learning spells work — when can I cast or learn spells and what do Torches/Scrolls do?

Magic Levels determine Conjure Magic effects and what your magic actions do, Torches and Scrolls have their special uses during Conjure/Adventure, and the conditions and advancement for learning spells (Spell Token) are detailed in the learning-spell rules (Rulebook pp.14, 17).
