## Rules questions

### Do I refill the card display when I take a card in the Recruit phase?

No — do not refill the display when you take a card; the display is only refilled during the Return step at the end of the round (see page 7 and the Return instructions on page 14).

### When do I resolve a recruited card’s effects — immediately, during Income, or at game end?

Resolve card effects immediately after recruiting unless the card shows the income-phase icon (resolved in the Income phase) or the end-game icon (resolved at game end) — see page 8.

### If my exploration marker reaches the treasure at the end of a track and I still have movement, do I get the treasure more than once?

Yes — when a marker reaches the end you immediately gain the treasure shown, and any additional movement (or further movement while already on the treasure space) triggers the treasure bonus again for each extra step (see page 11).

### How are exploration-track rewards awarded when players are tied?

The furthest marker gets first-place rewards, and if players are tied all tied players earn that reward while the next reward(s) are skipped (e.g., two tied players both get second-place and the next reward is skipped) — see page 14.

### When and how are exploration markers returned between rounds?

During the Return step, move each exploration marker back (or forward) to your furthest trading post on that track; if you have built none on a track, return that marker to the starting position (see page 14).

### Do soldier (red) cards score during the game or only at the end?

Soldier cards score only in final scoring: each soldier in your tableau scores 2 coins for each trading post you built in that soldier’s territory, and soldier scoring is done first in the final scoring sequence (see pages 9 and 15).
