- Canal Era — links
- 1 VP for each canal or rail link shown in the locations adjacent to each of your link tiles. Link tiles are removed from the board as they score.
- Canal Era — industries
- The VPs printed in the bottom left of each of your flipped industry tiles on the board. Unflipped tiles score nothing.
- Rail Era — links
- The same link scoring again at the end of the Rail Era.
- Rail Era — industries
- The same industry scoring again at the end of the Rail Era. Passing 100 VP just starts another loop of the Progress Track.
- Shortfall penalties
- Any VP lost during the game for being unable to cover a shortfall — 1 VP per £1 short once you have sold what industry tiles you can. Most VP wins; ties break on highest income, then most money remaining.
