- Canal Era — links
- 1 VP for each link icon shown in the locations adjacent to each of your Link tiles, scored at the end of the Canal Era. Link tiles are removed from the board as they are scored.
- Canal Era — industries
- The VPs in the bottom left corner of each of your flipped Industry tiles — the ones with a black top half. Unflipped tiles score nothing.
- Rail Era — links
- The same link scoring again at the end of the Rail Era.
- Rail Era — industries
- The same industry scoring again at the end of the Rail Era. Passing 100 VP simply starts another loop of the Progress Track.
- Cash
- 1 VP for every £10 in your player area, scored only at the end of the Rail Era.
- − Shortfall penalties
- Any VP lost during the game for being unable to cover a negative income — 1 VP per £1 short. Enter it as a negative.
