Front Toward Enemy
A tactical-level simulation of company- and platoon-sized engagements during the Vietnam War, played on a hex grid at 50 meters per hex and five minutes per turn. Players command fire teams, heavy weapon sections, leaders, vehicles, and helicopters across scenarios that include airmobile insertions, assaults on fortified positions, search-and-destroy missions, and other typical Vietnam operations. Rules cover helicopter gunships, armor, artillery support, snipers, sappers, civilians, booby-traps, medics and casualty evacuation, prisoner interrogation, tunnels and hidden caches. A chit-pull activation system produces erratic command-and-control, while volume of fire, immediate action drills, and unit cohesion affect survivability and outcomes.
