Guillotine

1987 · Bluffing

Guillotine

Set during the French Revolution, the game has each player lead one of four parliamentary groups. Over up to ten rounds, players place six group members at different locations on the board to gain recognition, influence events, or vote on other members. At the Revolution Tribunal, for example, up to four members vote on accused figures, with negative votes potentially sending them to the guillotine. Players can negotiate agreements with one another, but promises do not have to be kept. The winner is the player with the most surviving group members at the end.
