18VA: The Railroads Come to Virginia
A compact 18xx game set in Virginia with adjacent Maryland and the District of Columbia. Players lay track, found and run rail companies, and buy and sell shares while competing for routes and revenue. The map emphasizes West–East coal flows from mountain hexes to coastal towns, while passenger traffic runs primarily North–South, creating distinct freight and passenger income patterns. Corporations start with only the president’s share sold, open with five shares, and may expand to ten at the owner’s discretion, shaping financing and control decisions throughout the game.
