Alaska Pipeline: The Energy Crisis Game
Created in 1973 during the debate over building the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline, this educational card game presents arguments, facts, objections, and public opinion surrounding the project. Players take tricks with cards representing oil companies, objections, facts, and the public, collecting gas-ration points for unwanted cards. Pawns advance around a board depicting Alaska according to the points gained. Special cards can alter the score, and the player with the fewest gas-ration points wins when one player reaches 100.
