In the village of Ohktanstad, smoke from a dozen funerary pyres hangs over the streets as pilgrims gather around a new prophet. The prophet’s cult promises freedom from VERHU and his Miseries, offering the possibility of ascension to godhood to those who accept the gifts of their god.
