A thematic portrayal of Michael, commander of the heavenly armies and viceroy of heaven. It draws on accounts of his battle against Satan’s forces, his association with chivalry and martial prowess, and his role as an angel of mercy, forbearance, and human virtue. Michael is also linked with Gabriel, Raphael, and Phanuel in the prophesied Battle of Armageddon.
