A group of hungry Okie travellers fleeing the Dust Bowl reaches a relative’s farmstead in the Arizona hills, where abundant crops offer food but no relief from their hunger. As they explore the land and uncover its secrets, they encounter a corrupting spirit that twists human needs toward dark ends.
