Ashen Stars
A mystery and adventure roleplaying game set in a gritty space opera universe. Players take the roles of freelance law enforcers working aboard a starship in the Bleed, a war-ravaged frontier left behind by a retreating interstellar empire. Crews investigate strange cases, resolve local crises, explore unknown regions, and take contracts from settlements, pirates, and other factions. The game includes seven playable species, streamlined rules for space combat, fourteen ship types, hostile species and other NPC threats, and a starting adventure. Players also manage their reputation, ship repairs, equipment, and cybernetic enhancements while balancing immediate payment against future work.
