Background Quirks
This supplement adds lightweight, flavour-focused mechanics to the backgrounds in the 2024 Player’s Handbook. Each background receives two or three situational quirks that support exploration and roleplaying, such as discounted healing from temples, improved initiative after performing for a crowd, or a guaranteed buyer for crafted goods. The quirks are designed to complement existing origin features without significantly affecting game balance or combat power. The Dungeon Master can allow characters to use all of their background’s quirks or select only some of them.
