Backgrounds for Victorian Horror 5E

This booklet contains thirty character backgrounds for Victorian-era gothic horror campaigns. They focus on ordinary professions and social roles, including factory workers, apothecaries, reporters, governesses, detectives, cab drivers, and grave robbers. Each background provides skill and tool proficiencies, starting equipment, and a special feature reflecting the character’s place in an industrial society shaped by rigid class divisions and hidden dangers. They replace standard backgrounds during character creation and can be used in urban, rural, or coastal horror settings before ordinary lives are drawn into supernatural mysteries.
