First-rate ships of the line are the most powerful vessels in Black Seas, combining heavy armament with exceptional durability. Their broadsides can inflict severe damage, and they offer extensive options for customization and upgrades. Spanish first rates can take the Over Gunned upgrade at no additional cost, reflecting their particularly heavy armament. These ships are harder to handle, requiring a skill test when sailing at higher speeds, and cannot be crewed by veterans while using the upgrade.
