Black Seas: USS Essex
This 36-gun American frigate served in the Quasi-War with France, the First Barbary War, and the War of 1812. Under Captain David Porter, it disrupted British whaling in the Pacific, capturing 12 whalers and 360 prisoners before surrendering at Valparaiso in 1814. In fleet games, its special rules reflect this history: boarding actions made with the frigate receive a +2 modifier.
