Civolution: Acceptance Letter

2025 · Expansion for Base-game

Civolution: Acceptance Letter

Adds three small optional add-ons that mix into the base game. One add-on provides six starting attribute chips; players draft one at setup and install it on their console to gain a unique opening benefit. A second add-on introduces six creature chips tied to territory types. Creatures are tamed via hunting actions, installed in their own column on the console, and can be fed with local resources during the feeding phase for ongoing effects. The third add-on supplies fifteen level-4 module tiles (one per main module). At setup each player drafts three, allowing those specific modules to be upgraded to level 4 during play if the player reaches them.

Rules questions

Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.

“When I hunt the visible creature’s territory, do I roll separately to get food and tame it?”

No. Roll your fate dice once and choose one die; its value determines both your food and whether you tame the creature. You may spend idea markers to adjust the value, but the adjusted value applies to both (pp. 5–6).

“If I tame a creature, can I put its chip in any column on my console?”

Only if you have no creature chip installed yet: then choose an empty column or one containing only income chips. If you already have a creature chip, you must use that same column; after installing the new chip, make a lucky find in its territory type (p. 6).

“What do I get for feeding a creature, and can I use any stored materials?”

You may feed it up to 3 stored materials of its territory type, in any allowed combination. Feeding 1, 2, or 3 materials gives, respectively, 2 ideas; 2 ideas and 3 success points; or those rewards plus 2 steps on the indicated progress track (p. 8).

“Do I start with a level-4 module already installed?”

No. You select three level-4 tiles during setup, then upgrade one corresponding main module once; the tiles stay beside your console until you use “Upgrade 1 main module” to upgrade that module from level III to level 4 (pp. 9, 11).

“Where does my starting attribute chip go, and when do I get its benefit?”

After the usual three steps for your starting chip card, place the attribute chip in the lowest available stage of any column; that column is then reserved for attribute and income chips. Gain its starting benefit after placing it (pp. 2–3).
