Players act as heads of powerful families competing to build a thriving urban network across nine districts. They place buildings, keeps, gates, and watchtowers and mark control with influence cubes to expand their business reach and visible presence on a shared city board. Players also cultivate relationships with three major city factions, vying for faction influence to gain advantages and score prestige. Periodic monster attacks force temporary cooperation and tactical responses at the city walls and harbor, creating opportunities to turn crises into personal gain. Scoring rewards both concentrated networks and influence spread across districts, while miniature structures and cube placement track city growth in three dimensions.
