European Union: The Board Game
Players take the roles of European political parties, each with distinct policy preferences and special abilities. Across three rounds representing the European Union’s expanding membership, they bid influence points for voting power among Member States in the Council and, in the advanced version, Members of the European Parliament. The highest bidder in each institution becomes its President, setting the agenda, chairing discussions, and calling votes. Players lobby one another, form alliances, and negotiate support or opposition for proposals while pursuing their own policies. After three rounds, the player with the most influence points wins.
