Farlight: Mission Critical
Five critical missions introduce a countdown die mechanic. When a mission is revealed, a die is placed on it and reduced by one after each round. Players place bets and roll to attempt the mission, adding the bet value to the result. The total must exceed the countdown die for success. Failed attempts trigger penalties, while reaching zero activates a separate countdown failure effect, potentially damaging the ship and depleting resources.
