Flames of War: Bridge by Bridge – The German Defence of Holland, September, November 1944
A World War II miniatures supplement focused on German defensive operations in the Netherlands during the September–November 1944 fighting around Arnhem and the approaches to the Rhine. Players marshal improvised German kampfgruppen composed of varied formations—SS panzer elements, Fallschirmjäger, heavy tanks, training units, AA battalions pressed into ground roles, fortress machine‑gun units and other ad‑hoc detachments—and deploy them to slow and stop Allied airborne and armoured thrusts along roads, canals and flooded fields. Scenarios and army lists model the uneven quality, mixed equipment and local improvisation of German forces, while gameplay emphasizes holding ground, delaying actions and counterattacks in constricted terrain.
