En el pueblo italiano de Meina, la desaparición del poderoso príncipe vampiro de Florencia, Gianni Montesco, provoca el caos. Alexander Montenegro, miembro del clan Tremere, asume temporalmente el poder, pero pierde el control de la situación cuando desaparece el cadáver de un ghoul importante. Un grupo de vampiros de Génova recibe la misión de investigar discretamente el caso, mientras los miembros del clan Giovanni participan en un comité encargado de proteger los intereses de su clan en Florencia. La organización Disoccupati Revolucionari se convierte en la principal sospechosa.
