A historical ASL study covering the battles along the Matanikau River on Guadalcanal from August to October 1942. Five scenarios depict Marine assaults, Japanese defensive actions, an encircled company’s breakout attempt, the expansion of a Marine bridgehead, and a Japanese counterattack supported by armor.
