Jungle Rumble

Jungle Rumble

Herd cats to settle and industrialize your jungle. Choose action tiles to mine, build plantations, water fields, and recruit more cats. Place cats on an action to increase its strength, while other players may follow with a single cat. Grow your herd to take more actions, but produce enough food to keep the cats from wandering away. Players score for their herd, water supply, food, gold, and other achievements.

This is a short (1 hour) 4 player game that my group didn't like much. The way it works is you get these cat worker tiles, who get tapped when you use them. Each turn the active player selects a role, taps cats to get benefits as many times as they want, and then each player can follow by tapping a single cat to do the thing once. Then the active player has to feed his workers. The components are cute, even if the Jungle Rumble title doesn't really make sense. At any rate, all this is sort of normal and fine, but starting player passes at the end of a round of 4 selections, which means the player who went first, has to now go last and wait until it's their turn to reset their workers, which means you miss out on a lot. It's fine, super cute components, but for the same amount of time, there are many things I'd rather play.
