Union and Confederate forces clash around Kernstown, Virginia in two battles fought in 1862 and 1864. The game covers both engagements at regimental scale, with scenarios depicting Stonewall Jackson’s attack on a superior Union force and Jubal Early’s defeat of George Crook’s army. Players maneuver units and issue orders through a blind chit-pull system that models fog of war, battlefield friction, and uncertain outcomes. Turns represent 20 minutes, with a map scale of 140 yards per hex. Scenarios take three to ten hours to play.
