Libraries

This supplement explores the role of libraries in fantasy societies, beginning with a brief history from 2600 BCE to 1850 CE and guidelines for defining them. It introduces library statblock categories for Type, Access, Circulation, and Audience, with examples including academic, public, religious, private, lost, and virtual libraries. It also details document types such as clay tablets, parchment scrolls, and tattoos, and adds a Linguistics Fluency subsystem with Competent, Fluent, and Proficient levels. Additional material includes academic character options, magic items, spells, a Library cleric subdomain, the Words oracle mystery, and the Bookring magic item.
