Lion Rampant: The Crusader States
An expansion for a skirmish miniatures game, this historical gamebook explores the Middle East during the Crusades, from the siege of Antioch in 1097–98 to the fall of Acre in 1291. Players command warbands representing twelve factions, including crusader lords, Templars, Muslim emirs, Assassins, Byzantine and Armenian officers, Mongol commanders, mercenaries, pirates, and castle defenders. The expansion adds faction-specific abilities, new upgrades, historical information, and scenarios based on Western, Byzantine, Armenian, and Muslim accounts. Its factions can also be combined in battles reflecting the alliances and conflicts of the period.
