Lock 'n Load Tactical: Bear and the Jackal
A tactical-level wargame that recreates small-unit engagements from the 1979–1989 Soviet campaign in Afghanistan. Players command Soviet and Mujahideen forces, including Spetsnaz and RPG-equipped irregulars, across two large geomorphic maps that represent rocky passes, villages, and roadways. Play focuses on squad tactics: ambushes, helicopter assaults, raids, convoy actions, and cordon-and-sweep operations. Scenarios use unit counters, terrain effects, and scenario-specific objectives to model movement, line of sight, suppression, and close combat at the squad and vehicle scale.
