Each creature is presented with a short English-language haiku covering its vital statistics, capacity for violence, and mien, followed by notes on its ecology, habitat, and society. The collection includes horror themes such as body horror, animal horror, parasitism, child stealing, surgical horror, mind control, and thought reading.
