The plane of Innistrad faces a growing Eldrazi threat as its familiar horrors are twisted into stranger forms. This expansion returns several mechanics from the preceding set and introduces meld, which transforms two specific creatures into a single oversized creature; escalate, which adds modes to modal spells for an additional cost; and emerge, which lets powerful Eldrazi be cast by sacrificing a creature and paying the remaining mana.
