Metropolys: Character Cards
Character cards are randomly dealt face down at the start of the game and provide each player with a hidden special ability. A card is revealed when its power is first used, then remains active for the rest of the game. The characters affect bidding, Metro tokens, -1 tokens, and neighborhood scoring. Abilities include matching an existing bid, treating neighborhoods with Metro tokens as adjacent, redeploying received -1 tokens, avoiding the Archaeological Site card, and increasing the value of Trendy Neighborhood tokens.
