Mycologist's Primer
An illustrated, system-agnostic field guide to 100 real-world species of mushrooms, lichens, and slime molds, drawing on 19th-century natural histories, folklore, mythology, and occult traditions. Each entry includes biological information, habitat and distribution, mushroom-hunting notes, and relevant culinary, medicinal, and toxicity details. The guide also presents magical properties inspired by real-world folklore, providing material for tabletop roleplaying, fiction, and world-building. It is intended for use in imagined adventures and does not replace a reliable local guide for real-life foraging.
